About the City of Coventry

Coventry is a city located in central England, in the West Midlands region. It has a population of around 320,000 people, making it the 9th largest city in England.

Coventry has a rich history, with evidence of settlements in the area dating back to the Roman times. It was also an important centre of the British motor industry during the 20th century, with famous car brands such as Jaguar, Triumph, and Rover all having factories in the city.

During World War II, Coventry suffered severe damage from German bombing raids, which resulted in the loss of many historic buildings and landmarks. However, the city has since been rebuilt and now boasts a mix of modern and historic architecture.

Today, Coventry is home to two universities – Coventry University and the University of Warwick – and has a thriving arts and cultural scene. It also hosts a number of major events and festivals throughout the year, including the Godiva Festival, the UK City of Culture 2021, and the Coventry Half Marathon.
