International Women’s Day.
Businesswomen Gennine Cope and Sue Yildiz, Directors of Kopek Security LTD and Chamber of commerce Corporate members, let us know their thoughts about the up and coming International Women’s day and their experiences as female directors in the security industry. Their experience and professionalism have driven the successful company forward not only in the last three years but through a pandemic!
As female directors and both former dog handlers in the security industry, a traditionally male-dominated sector, they have mixed emotions around International Women’s Day, say the pair.
“On the one hand, companies are recognising their diversity gaps, but on the other hand, organisations need to be encouraged to take the time on International Women’s Day, to examine their own workplace culture and determine whether there are steps that can be taken to further eliminate the barriers stopping women from achieving their professional goals.”
Even in the past few years, there has been a notable shift when it comes to women’s standing in the workplace, Kopek security has witnessed the strides forwards that have been made in the Security and Construction sector.
But there is still more to be done.
